Academic advice and contact

In principle, all faculty members can advise you about studying sociology. Please read the study regulations, guidelines and other documents before registering for a consultation session. Please note as well that we cannot answer questions about the content of or procedures followed in other subject areas.

  • For general inquiries about study planning and mobility, please contact Jacqueline Staub by telephone at 061 207 28 15 or by email.
  • Dr. Jacqueline Kalbermatter (contact by email at studienberatung-soziologie@clutterunibas.ch) is responsible for giving subject-specific academic advice, as well as for questions regarding the recognition of credits obtained at other institutions and admission to the master’s degree program (especially if your bachelor’s degree was not in sociology).
  • Please contact Heidi Teal (representative of the Teaching Committee) if you have any questions about credit transfers.
  • Please contact a faculty member directly for issues concerning the supervision of proseminar and seminar papers.
