Student organization
Who are we?
All sociology students at all levels belong to the student organization and elect the executive board every year at the general assembly. The board then represents the students and looks after the interests of the organization. However, you do not have to be a member of the board to contribute ideas or projects; we are always happy to hear from students.
What do we do?
At the level of university politics, we represent the interests, ideas and desires of students in the Department of Sociology. We view this process of self-organization on the part of the students as a central aspect of studying, both at the level of university politics and beyond. That said, you will have the most contact with us at the various events that we organize each semester. Every semester, we invite you to an aperitif to mark the start and end of the semester, which can carry on late into the night. We also organize cultural and political events throughout the semester, including short film evenings, public talks, group museum visits and reading groups. We also run the coffee machine in the institute’s common room. The money from the machine is used to buy new coffee, with what’s left over going to the FG. This means you’re not only paying for your coffee, but also for your beer at the next FG event!
